Its pretty flattering I used to have have really bad acne in high school, and wasn’t so hansome. Best thing about it is we get to have another platform to raise money for the Animal Shelter Foundation, I’m donating any prize money to them.

I won a bare knuckles MMA World Tournament.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN MODELING?

10 years, funny you don’t see many model/ fighter very different professions.

HOW DID YOU GET INTO MODELING?

I went to a model event  called PROSCOUT and signed with a few agencies, I would take the Greyhound bus from Newbedford, MA to NY a few times a week to go on go-sees, for the first eight months I made NO money; then I hit my first editorial for DNR Magazine, I was so excited! Forward to  this date, I have over 400 tears (magazine ads). Every body hits there stride at different period, don’t worry about what others have done, just do your best and you’ll be a boss at whatever you want to succeed in.

WHAT’S THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE YOU THINK FITNESS MODELS FACE TODAY?

Enjoying good food ha. I eat pretty clean but I like to enjoy life. I made a lot of money fighting so the modeling now is more just for fun less pressure as when it was my only job.  A lot of these guys that are top guys look amazing, but they are real serious about diet. It’s tough to maintain that discipline for a long time. What I don’t like about it is that it’s just no realistic for a lot of guys. People get depressed when they don’t see those type of gains like the models show on creating products for example. As there’s so much more to looking like the guys in the ads than just supplements and training, when you shoot those ads you get in pre-contest shape, not how you look on Tuesday. Its not normal healthy to be at 3% body fat.  Let the mirror be your judge, not a magazine.

WHAT’S YOUR DIET LIKE?

High Protein Diet, but I accessorize my shit so it puts some flava on it, I mean plain ass chicken night after night sucks, so ill add some shredded cheese or a lil bit of chile. Give it a lil falva.

SHARE WITH US AN IDEA OF HOW YOU GO ABOUT YOUR FITNESS REGIMEN?

I train 5 sets of 5 reps on my last exercise I do 7 sets with just a min rest in between for 12 reps.

Yes all of the prize money for being worlds sexiest man will be donated to the Animal Shelter Foundation.

WHERE DID THIS LOVE FOR ANIMALS COME FROM AND HOW IT CAME TO BE?

Well, it really came from when I started to train for MMA, I did a lot of running at 5 AM and training can be lonely as I don’t like a lot of distractions.  I ran by this white ‘lil puppy by a dumpster. I ended up carrying it back home and long story short, started to run with him every morning. He is such a kind appreciative dog and I wanted to help out other dogs that are in same situation as he was.

WHY ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT THIS CAUSE?

Dogs don’ make bad choices, or excuses they depend on humans to take care of them so when there abandoned it is the  fault of others not there’s.

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF AS A MODEL AND ADVOCATE ONE YEAR FROM NOW?

Well I formed, Dumbbell Productions so  nowadays I mostly produce focusing on unscripted TV programs, we sold 2 shows this year in approaching a 3rd one which is a big on, which is fitness based.

FIRST AND FOREMOST, WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO USE THE TERM “AMER THE HAMMER”? HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THAT NAME?

Well, like most good nicknames they just come on their own!  People started to call me that when I played football because I would Hammer everybody.

TELL US A LITTLE SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF? 

Currently I live in Toronto, Canada.  I have a degree in architecture which I went to school for in Toronto.  But I have been featured in magazines/TV commercials for my true passion – fitness.  I am also very family oriented, I believe in spending as much time with the people you love, because at the end of the day, those are the real things in life that matter.  A little secret about me is that my thing is to always stay positive, I love surrounding myself with positive people as well as spreading positivity, because it can make a huge difference on how other people feel.  You can make somebody’s day with a smile, believe it or not.

WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR PASSION FOR FITNESS? 

Like many people it starts with wanting to look good, but when you finally realize the true benefits of working out and eating healthy…looking good is the least important aspect.  I love the mental feeling I get, I guess you can say it’s a “high” because it’s such a good feeling.  Another passion I have is that I love to help others and if I can use fitness as a method of doing so, I will.  I believe in being humble and helping others when you have the knowledge to do so. My website is non-profit, so to speak.  The true profit of my website is when I get emails or facebook messages from people telling me how much my website and myself have helped them lose weight or get fit, and that I inspire them.

HOW CAN A PERSON, WHO MAY HAVE NEVER LIFTED A DUMBBELL OR AWARE OF WHAT HE’S EATING, BEGING THE PROCESS TO BEING HEALTHY? 

It’s all about baby steps just like anything else in life.  You gotta start at the bottom and work your way up, learning new things along the way, the main thing is to never give up, because if you do you’re guaranteed to fail.  When it comes to nutrition here are a few tips:

1) Eliminate fried foods

2) Know that carbs and fats are not necessarily bad for you, we actually need them to survive

3) Drink more water, rarely anybody drinks enough water, and in many cases people confuse dehydration for hunger and overeating 

4) The easiest thing to do is over-eat, learn portion control

5) Many people have this conception that they shouldn’t eat after 6pm. This is not true; the mistake most people make is eat chips, ice cream, chocolate while watching TV before going to bed.  It is not bad to eat food before going to bed, its bad to eat junk food before going to bed.

The Internet is a great tool that can be used. Many people have websites such as myself dedicated to helping people that are unaware of what they are doing.

WHAT’S YOUR DEFINITION OF A HEALTHY PERSON? 

A healthy person to me has nothing to do with what you look like. It’s all about how you feel in your mind.  If you feel like a million bucks, and you are positive you are healthy to me.  The biggest muscle in your body is your brain, without that you couldn’t be here today. I never drink or smoke, well, at least I haven’t for 5 years.  I believe drugs and alcohol can differentiate between being healthy and unhealthy as well.

WHAT DO YOU DAILY TO KEEP YOURSELF FIT AND HEALTHY? 

I definitely practice what I preach first and formost.  I promote healthy living, while informing people of the benefits of working out, eating right, and living a stress free lifestlye.

1) I DONT EAT CRAP FOOD

2) I MINIMIZE STRESS IN MY LIFE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

3) I WORKOUT WHICH NOT ONLY BUILDS MY BODY PHYSICALLY, BUT MORE IMPORTANT, MENTALLY.  EVERYTIME YOU STEP FOOT IN THE GYM AND ACCOMPLISH A HARD WORKOUT, YOU JUST BUILT CONFIDENCE AND MENTAL STRENGTH FOR YOURSELF.

Its much more than just looking healthy, it’s all about feeling healthy and positive.  Many people don’t understand how much diet can change your mental outlook on life.

WHERE WILL AMER THE HAMMER BE A YEAR FROM NOW? 

I always aim to achieve more, and accomplish all goals set out!  I don’t believe in moving backwards at all.  Having said that, I’m  hoping to be even more established as a male fitness model, and hopefully snag more covers for big name magazines!

WHAT MAKES YOU DO WHAT YOU DO? WHAT DRIVES YOU TO MAKE THINGS HAPPEN? 

My family and where I come from plays a huge role in what I do and how I do it with such determination.  It’s an amazing thing to see people come from such little and overcome obstacles and adversity.  I get my strength from my mom (I have to give her all the credit).  She is such a hard worker! If she is hardworking, how can I be lazy?

Another key component is goal-setting.  Many people that are unhappy, are that way because they don’t have goals.  Whether you fail 100 times or succeed the first time at something, goals will keep you going and keep you smiling because you have a purpose and things to look forward to.  If you live the same routinary lifestyle day-in and day-out…whats the point?

TELL US MORE ABOUT WHO MILOS TANASIC IS, WHAT DO YOU DO AND WHERE DO YOU LIVE? 

I’m a 23 year-old soccer boy from Serbia. I was a student of the Sports College (Soccer Department and Conditioning Coach) in my town of Subotica. I love to workout and enjoys all kinds of challenges. Nutrition and healthy lifestyle are my everyday rituals, but, of course, once in a while I like having a crazy night out with my friends.

FROM SOCCER PLAYER TO MALE MODEL, THAT’S QUITE A FAMILIAR TRANSITION (Hint: David) ! HOW DID YOU INITIALLY GET INTO MODELING THEN?

A good friend and photographer, Imagen, first told me about modeling 3 years ago in a coffee bar in Reykjavik, Iceland. The idea was there but obligations towards soccer did not allow me to take it more seriously. One day, Imagen visited me in my home in Reykjavik and we made a couple of images. These were my very first professional pics and they were stunning! Thanks to this amazing guy and photographer, I started to think more about modeling. But soccer was still much more in my mind. About a year ago, I made a decision to give a lot more into this business. This decision was made thanks to a major impact from a close friend and a great photographer, Pedja Ivkovic Kadmil, whose images I’m sharing with you today.

WHO WAS THE FIRST PHOTOGRAPHER YOU SHOT WITH AND WHAT TYPE OF IMAGES DID YOU GUYS CREATE?  WHAT ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS OR PROGRAMS HAVE YOU BEEN PART OF?

So far I have done work for both the fashion and fitness modeling business. I have been part of the Apollo GT fashion/fitness male model magazine and was part of the Cosmopolitan Magazine’s Serbian edition. I’ve also worked in the campaign for Kro-gu Jewelry, where the images have been posted on many blogs. At the moment I’m working on a couple of high fashion editorials and preparing for the Mister Bosnia & Herzegovina contest.  I’m a member of the AK modeling agency from Bosnia, which is owned by my close buddy and photographer Amer Kadic.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES? WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO FOR FUN? 

I would say my favourite hobby is definetly working out hahahaha icon smile MFM Talks to Milos Tanasic, Images by Pedja Ivkovic Kadmil % In my free time I love to read. My favourite books are historical novels about strong personalities like Alexander the Great, Atila the Hun and Julie Caesar. For fun I love to spend time with my buddies going to the cinema, checking out different coffe shops, restaurants and just laughing and enjoying small talk. Most of all I enjoy spending quality time with my family – they are my biggest supporters.

In everyday life, I’m very much interested in traveling, sightseeing, meeting new people and experiencing diversity of cultures and food from around the world. When it comes to modeling, I can show flexibility to express myself differently, to be communicative, professional and always willing to experience new ideas.


WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO GO TO THE GYM EVERY SINGLE DAY? 

Its just the desire to get better and better each day, to achieve something, to become a role model to other people that gives me all the inspiration I need.

Of course there are difficult times when I am tired and my body suffers, but I put alot of variety into my workouts so it never gets boring and the most important thing is I love what I do.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A SOCCER PLAYER? WILL YOU BE REPRESENTING SERBIA AT THE FIFA WORLD CUP IN 2014? 

I have played soccer since I was 6 years old and even at age 23, it is my biggest passion. Great question! Well, to be honest I think the chances are very small since my soccer career has gone a bit downward in the past 2-3 years because I have suffered a couple of bad injuries. I must say mister that with this question you have put a new task in front of me, I will definitely try to surprise all of your readers with a 2014 World Cup debut for the Serbian National Team!

WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT TO DO ASIDE FROM MODELING? HAVE YOU EVER CONSIDERED DOING ACTING?

There are a couple of things that I am interested in doing besides modeling. I have some experience as a junior team soccer coach and I could definitely see myself doing that. What I would like to do, however, is to become a personal coach because I love giving advice, teaching and guiding young people to become both physically and mentally stronger and helping them achieve their goals in sports. They could definitely learn a lot from my mistakes.

Acting is a big passion for me. During my primary and secondary school education I was a part of every school act, I had roles in which I was the court jester but also very serious ones where I was the main actor in the role of St. Sava, the first Serbian archbishop. I could definitely see myself acting again.
