Photographer Christopher Correia of CJC Photography shared an amazing post with MFM last November 2011, featuring Jeremy Levesque (see the post here) and today he follows up with yet another contribution, this time with an interview with Adam Rose. Adam is not only a male fitness model to be but was also a contestant of NBC’s “Love In The Wild.” Adam has also done a bodybuilding show previously and has experience and knowledge in MMA. Enjoy our interview with this fitness stud and leave a comment below if you have any questions for him!
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN MODELING?
After I did my first bodybuilding show, photographers were interested in my physique. When you’re at such low body fat and don’t look like the average person, that’s something that makes someone “unique.”
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PHYSICAL FEATURES?
Ughh I’m never satisfied with myself to be honest with you. But if I have to answer I would have to say my calves. Yes I know weird, but they’re probably the most developed muscle on my body.
WHERE DO YOU DRAW INSPIRATION FROM WHEN DOING PHOTOSHOOTS?
Making someone say “Holy Shit!” is my biggest inspiration. I want to shock people; I want all my shoots to be original and inspiring.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT MODELING?
Being the center of attention! I was the middle child, damn it! I am a born entertainer and love the spotlight!
SHARE WITH US HOW YOU GOT INTO MMA.
I’ve been interested in MMA since I started bouncing at a night club. I wanted to know how to defend myself if I had to. I started training with a close friend of mine at the Boneyard in Taunton, MA. I participated in Muai Thai classes and mostly one on one training with my buddy. At first I was just looking to learn how to contain someone and escort them out of the club properly, but then I progressed and naturally became interested in being able to whoop someone’s ass if need be.
WHAT DO YOU THINK IS A MAIN DRAWBACK WHEN TRAINING AND HOW DO YOU OVERCOME IT?
Temptation of fast food! I’m not going to lie, who doesn’t like to feast on a juicy fast food burger once in a while? The self-control and discipline is the biggest thing for me. I almost have to go into “robot mode” and convince myself that I don’t need that stuff.
WHAT ONE INCIDENT IN YOUR LIFE THAT YOU WILL NEVER FORGET?
My participation in the reality show “Love in the Wild” season 1on NBC. I was 1 of 10 men chosen in the U.S.to travel to Costa Rica & work together with 1 of 10 females to complete “adventure challenges” in the jungle. It was the most exciting thing I have ever done in my life. I’ve never been out of the country before and what better way to go then with a prestigious television network and get paid to go on vacation with hot chics. It was an experience of a lifetime that I will never forget.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR APPROACH TO NUTRITION
I eat as much organic and non processed foods as possible. The more ingredients added into a certain food, the longer it’s going to take for your body to break it down. I look at food as a source of energy & recovery for my body & muscles. I want it in & out. I eat every 2-3 hours a day.
WHAT IS THE MOST CHALLENGING THING FOR YOU WHEN IT COMES TO BEING FIT?
Making time to eat properly and hit my cardio. As a bartender, I can’t always stop what I’m doing to eat. Therefore, I’m always planning ahead. Whether it is packing small meals, snacks or a protein shake, every time I go out somewhere I’m planning my meals. I cannot go to the movies without worrying what I’ll be eating!
