This could be one of the most interesting interviews yet! Aside from the fact that David Costa, being a two-country personal trainer, not considering himself as a fitness model (but obviously has modeled a lot as one), he is inspired to stay fit by a mystery guy from Ricky Martin’s video, “She bangs.” Also, since his teenage years, our not-really-a-male-fitness-model hunk has been living a healthy lifestyle, which led him to pursue five…yes 5…diplomas in physical training and fitness. Thus, whether he considers himself one or not, David Costa definitely is in many photographers’ and readers’ (and admirers’) eyes – a certified male fitness model.
How do you managed your time between Paris and Geneva?
My schedule is very organized; one week I’m in Paris from Monday until Wednesday midday in Geneva, then Dijon until Thursday midday, then Paris until Sunday.
Editor’s note: That’s quite a schedule
How long have you been a fitness model?
I don’t consider myself as a fitness model, I’m a personal trainer. Fitness modeling is for fun, but when I have to work as a fitness model, I’m very professional.
You’ve shot with Dylan Rosser. Describe to us your experience with such fine photographer?
Dylan is a great photographer and a very sympathetic guy. He know exactly what he wants for a shoot and gives the model very good advices.
When you do fitness modeling, what is your regimen before and after a shoot ?
Before a shoot, I reduce my carbohydrate intake and I add my proteins intake and also change my weight training program. Sometimes I stop completely my carbohydrate intakes.
After the shoot, depends on what I have to do (more shooting or sometimes nothing), I come back often slowly to my routine regime.
Have you always been a healthy guy?
Yes, since I was 14 years old! I love sports and I have a good diet and live a healthy lifestyle.
What motivates you to look great?
A dancer in Ricky Martin clip “She bangs.” He had incredible chest and abs!
How long have you been a personal trainer?
I’ve been a personal trainer for four (4) years! First, I was doing it the same time I was studying (for five diplomas in physical training and fitness). Now it’s my full-time job.
As a personal trainer, how do you motivate your clients to achieve their fitness objectives?
It all depends on their goals. I think my body and my mind are the main way to motivate them. Then, my passion for a healthy life style sustains that inspiration.
What else do you want to achieve as a personal trainer and a male fitness model (even if you don’t consider yourself as one)?
I want to develop my personal training business as an industry leader. On male fitness modeling, I would love to be published as a model of a sports wear or underwear brand and also be on a cover of a fitness magazine!

Who’s your favorite photographer?
I know a lot of great photographers! One whom I want to shoot with is Luis Raphael from Miami.
What is your dream assignment as a male fitness model?
Again, I’d love to be a model of a sportswear or underwear brand as well as a cover of a fitness magazine, is anyone there interested?
